Adele Flips Off Producers At Brit Awards Show, Later Apologizes

Once again, Adele emerged as a big awards winner, this time at Tuesday’s Brit Awards for music. The songstress took home the prize for album of the year and best British female solo artist. That said, Adele got a little carried away during one of her speeches–after being cut off by the show’s host, Adele made an obscene gesture to the show’s producers. More details below.

The show’s host, actor James Corden was asked to interrupt Adele during her speech because of time constraints. Adele was just saying “I’m so, so proud to be British and to be flying our flag,” when Corden walked in front of her to cut her off. Frustrated, Adele flipped her middle finger for the audience to see.

Later, Adele told The Sun that the insult was directed at those who deserved it, not her fans:

“I’m sorry if I offended anyone but it was the suits that offended me. Thank you all very much and thanks to my fans. I don’t want them to think I was swearing at them.”

Later, the show’s broadcaster, ITV, also issued a statement apologizing to Adele:

“We regret this happened and we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running.”

Aside from getting two major awards, Adele also performed “Rolling in the Deep” in front of thousands of fans and industry insiders. Bruno Mars and Rihanna also received awards for international artist, and Lana Del Rey got an award for International Breakout Act.

What have we learned from this? Don’t cut Adele off during a ‘Thank You’ speech. She’ll flip you off.

Brown will be appearing on “Birthday Cake (Remix),” rapping on one verse and then singing on another.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, the Head and the Heart, Mariachi El Bronx, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Blind Pilot, Lettuce, Fitz and the Tantrums, Gary Clark Jr., Delta Spirit, Brandi Carlisle, SOJA, Tower of Power and Avett Brothers are all slated to make supporting slot appearances throughout the tour.

Whitney Houston Album Prices Go Up, Sony Apologizes

One thing is meant to happen when a musical legend dies, we saw it with Michael Jackson, and now we’re seeing it with the late Whitney Houston – record sales go up, way up. When the world found out about Houston’s death, many rushed over to iTunes to grab some of her music. What they weren’t expecting however, was the price increase on her record. Needless to say, fans were outraged.

Hours after the singer passed away, U.K. fans rushed to iTunes to buy Houston’s “Ultimate Collection” and “Greatest Hits” records, only to find out that the price on both had increased. iTunes knows that when a legend like Miss Houston dies, sales go up, so their system automatically adjust the price. Thankfully, Sony has fixed the mistake.

Original Guns N’ Roses To Reunite For Hall Of Fame Induction

Guns N’ Roses are getting back together for one night and one night only. Come April, the original members of the legendary rock band will reunite to attend their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland.

In a recent interview with Billboard, keyboardist Dizzy Reed said:

“I know that all the original band is going to be there. I’m just going to go in with a good attitude and a clear head and a grateful heart. It’s unknown if the band will perform at the event.”

The classic GNR lineup consisted of frontman Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, drummer Steven Adler, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin and bassist Duff McKagan, but Reed and drummer Matt Sorum, who joined the band in 1990, will also be inducted.

Faces/Small Faces, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys will also be at the event on April 14. They, along with Guns N’ Roses, will be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

Currently Rose and Reed are touring under the name of Guns N’ Roses. Later this year, they will play in places like NYC and Chicago, and in mid-May they’ll begin a European tour.

Taylor Swift Debuts New Music Video With The Civil Wars

Taylor Swift released the music video for “Safe & Sound,” her new single from The Hunger Games movie soundtrack. Featuring the Grammy-winning duo, The Civil Wars, Swift’s new video doesn’t feature a peppy high school girl falling in love. There’s a feel of loneliness in Swift’s new video. Check it out below.

The music video premiered last night on MTV. There are no clips featured in the video of the upcoming movie, but it does capture the feeling of teenage girl feeling alone in the world. Swift wanders barefoot through plain fields and burning forests before entering an abandoned house where she finds a Mockingjay pin, which is a major symbol in the film.

Swift told MTV that she fell in love with characters after reading the books in just two days.

“When I got the call, I though from what I’d heard out the movie, ‘It’s an action movie, right? We’re probably going to be writing a song that’s like, “We’re going to win.” And then I read the book, and I thought, ‘No, we’re going to have to write sort of a death lullaby, it’s so different from what I thought.’”

According to MTV, the music video was actually shot in a cemetery to capture that depressed tone. The Civil Wars also appear a few times in the video, mostly singing backup vocals to Swift.
